The Silo book is going well and I have managed to get my first two chapters complete. Chapter 4 and 5 are now winging their way to the publishers to review…

Below are a couple of sneaky shots from the book. The first is the main character concept which we will be creating in the book…The second is a shot from Chapter 5 :)

New Year, New Book

Happy 2010 all! and with the new year comes a new book which I am starting work on today :)

This, my third book, will be focused on creating a character similar in style to my Red Sonja, but in a change to my usual technical manuals she will not be a game model. Instead I will be introducing my readers to the world of Silo and its amazing modeling toolset.

I will update my blog on its progress so watch this space for sneak previews of the character as well as updates on the books release schedule.

Silo Book Update

I am getting close to closing a deal with the publishers so should hopefully be starting work on my third book soon.

This one will focus on Nevercenter’s Silo, and I will be demonstrating how to create a warrior type character, by doing this I hope to cover organic areas with the figure, and hard surface with her armour, weapons and clothing.

Unlike my other books though this will be purely modeling, to keep the focus on Silo :)

Stay tuned for further updates…

Sleeper Update - Chapter 17

Sorry for the lack of a decent update on this, my debut fictional novel.  Back in late October I got slammed with work, both profesional and personal so was forced to take a break…I am now back on and ploughing through the book.

I just hit chapter 17, and am on page 264 out of 370 of this rewrite. I plan to finish this rewrite then let the novel rest for a while before I embark on a final review. Once the first few chapters are done then it will be time to start sending it out to agents & publishers.

Its funny, I was looking back over my Sleeper notebook and the earliest entry dates back to 1993…So this has be the mother of all projects. Its good though to see it coming to an end, book one anyway, and I am determined to have it completed this year and hopefully on its way to being published.

What I will need soon are some proof readers………..

Chapter 10…

Things are going well with Sleeper, I have been cramming in time early before work, during lunch times and on the odd evening to get it done…I am really enjoying writing it and have had some positive feedback which is a great boost.

I hope to get it done before christmas so I can pass it on for more feedback, then after that I guess I need to start thinking about an agent :)

If you know anyone who may be interested, nudge them my way ;)

Chapter 6…

Quick update on the progress of Sleeper.

I am working on it in any spare time I can get, which isn`t much at the moment, but am about a quater the way through my second rewrite.  I have also sent out the first few chapters to some friends who I hope will read it and give me some feedback…so fingers crossed its ok.

Game Character Development with Maya

In this, my first book, I take the reader through the creative and technical process involved in creating a real time game character. Each step is shown in detail as I guide them through modelling, texturing, optimization (including level of detail generation), rigging and finally animation.
